Representatives of various media organizations and executives of Sumitomo Corporation's subsidiary companies gathered on November 19 at an event hosted by Sumitomo's Corporate Communications Dept. There was much exchange of business cards at the event, which was attended by over 100 executives from 47 domestic subsidiaries and 75 reporters from 31 media groups, including newspapers, magazines and TV stations. The event provided valuable networking opportunities for both groups and helped raise the general level of understanding among reporters about a wide range of business activities undertaken by Sumitomo as a trading company.

Each subsidiary was represented by its own booth introducing its various businesses, services and products by means of panel displays, catalogs, books, DVDs and more. The wide-ranging exhibits included the very popular banana booth, as well as breathtaking floral bouquets, pet-care products, ladies' wear and so on, which all added a touch of glamour to the proceedings.

A crew from TV Tokyo was also in attendance and interviewed several of the executives. The interviews were broadcast on the news program "World Business Satellite" later the same day.
