Bright nursery finished with soft and odor-absorbing paulownia flooring, with a wide variety of play equipment.
Triton Sukusuku Square, Sumitomo's child-care facility, opened in October 2008. Prior to the opening, a ceremony to celebrate the opening was held on September 30. Susumu Kato, the President of Sumitomo Corporation, cut the tape in a peaceful atmosphere, with the attendance of children who are entering the nursery.
The nursery opens from 8:00 to 19:00 on weekdays for employees of Sumitomo Corporation and its group companies, with four nursery and nutrition staff to begin with. The fee is the same as for registered nurseries in the neighborhood. It offers monthly as well as temporary nursery services for children aged 0 to 5 years, aiming at supporting work-family balance for employees with young children. For example, employees returning to work can use this service until their child is accepted at a municipal nursery.
The following are comments from employees who used the trial nursery services prior to the opening: "I feel secure in knowing that I can get here right away if something happens to my child." "It's bright and clean, and the staff are very friendly."
