Currently, Bird-Friendly® Coffee can be purchased from Ogawa Coffee, KALDI COFFEE FARM, etc.

Farms are like forests, where trees produce pleasant shade that is friendly to birds and also restful to our eyes.
Bird-Friendly® Coffee, imported and sold by Sumitomo Corporation, will participate in the "SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2008" held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 15 (Wed.) to 17 (Fri.). Along with the exhibition of coffee from 132 Japanese and foreign companies, various seminars and workshops will be held. Dr. Robert Rice of the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center will take the platform as a panelist at the sustainable coffee symposium held on 17 (Fri.).
Bird-Friendly® Coffee is coffee grown on the certified farms under criteria established by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center as "being organic and helping to conserve migratory bird habitat". There are 28 certified farms in Guatemala, Columbia and other countries around the world, whose coffee is "shade grown" (grown in the shade of tall trees). Warblers, hummingbirds and other migratory birds have actually been observed resting on those farms.
Certified farms contribute much to the water quality and other environmental preservation by offering homes to migratory birds and many other living things at the same time as absorbing CO2.
