Answer
How did you come to join Sumitomo Corporation?
I met the former president of Sumitomo Corporation do Brasil S.A. by chance and he introduced me to the company. Brazilians value people who have gained experience in a variety of companies. I too have had a wide range of work experience at companies in various industries and countries. I would like to utilize the skills I gained through this experience to improve the quality of the business.

What are your future goals and objectives?
I am in charge of business management. It is important to enhance the motivation of project and commercial team members in order to get good results. From my business experience with many people, I have learned that if I respect other people, they will gradually respect me. This is also the case with relationships within a company. I think my task as a manager is to find and enhance positive aspects of staff members.

My family is living in Sao Paulo. Both I and my wife are Japanese-Brazilians

How do you spend your time after work?
I like playing tennis, and it’s also good for my health, so I enjoy playing after work from around 9:00 p.m. about 3 times a week. And it has been ten years since I started running. Starting from a 10 km run, I have participated in longer distance runs including full marathons. A marathon is like life itself. With a can-do spirit, I have set the goal of running 150 km per month. I also hope to participate in the Tokyo Marathon in near future.
