Answer
Please tell us about your job.
I’m in charge of handling copper concentrate and other Non Ferrous Metals as buyer agent supporting export from Chilean mining to smelters in Asia. Besides, other operations have been added recently that include the supply of equipment and materials to the San Cristobal silver/zinc mine currently developed by Sumitomo Corporation in Bolivia, the products we are supplying are for example tires, grinding balls and lubricants.
What is Sumitomo Corporation (Chile) like?
Offices of Chilean companies are usually very noisy, and the company that I was working for before joining Sumitomo Corporation was no exception. Everyone was talking and the office was very noisy. However, in Sumitomo Corporation Chile, I was surprised at first because the office was so quiet. This does not mean that the company lacks vigor. Everyone manages their time and has professionalism. They also have enthusiasm for work and our unity is very strong. It is a comfortable working environment for me, and I like it very much.
What do you do in your "theology" hobby?
As a Christian, I have been researching documents, costumes, customs, culture, history, social behavior and languages of olden days to explore how people in the past thought about the existence of God and how was their practice of faith. I have been doing this for about 10 years, and it has already become more like my philosophy of life than just a hobby. I have begun teaching theology to other people recently. In my opinion, Sumitomo's business philosophy, which I learnt after joining this company, is similar to Christianity, in some aspects particularly in terms of its emphasis on integrity.
What are your future goals?
I want to experience many things to expand my future possibilities. From my personal point of view, people can develop themselves in many areas. By learning and experiencing, we are able to cope with any situation. I want to put more focus on growing as a person than on becoming an expert in something.

My daughter and I went to the beach called “Isla Negra” in my new year holidays, which is beautiful and touristic place in the central zone of Chile.
