- Please tell us about your current job.
- As the manager of General Affairs, CSR and Corporate Communications, I am in charge of office administration, the arrangement of missions to China, etc., planning and implementation of CSR-related business and assisting with new business development related issues, including searching for potential comprehensive tie-up companies.
In September 2011, we went for a company trip to Pattaya, Thailand.
- What is the most rewarding part of your job?
- I find it rewarding when I can contribute to the company's profits by providing support to Business Units, and when I can foster a sense of unity among employees through CSR activities. I am the only one handling CSR-related business, so I get help from members of Business Units and Corporate Group when implementing CSR activities. In 2009, we provided our first internship program for college students, which received favorable comments. We plan to make further improvements to the program with the cooperation of the relevant staff members and implement the third internship program within 2011. Last year, we also started a fund-raising program for educational support for poor regions. I am very impressed that staff members have become more and more willing to make voluntary efforts for CSR activities.
In June 2011, I took a trip to Hongtudi, Yunnan province, where it is possible to enjoy the beautiful contrast of red soil and green fields.
- What do you think is most important in business?
- I think communication is vital. I have a belief that I can overcome disagreements with others by talking to them face-to-face. By exchanging honest opinions, we can better understand each other and nurture an atmosphere of openness in the office.
- What kind of job would you like to do in the future?
- I would like to involve more parties in the implementation of further social contribution activities, so that Sumitomo Corporation will gain more respect from the community. At present, so many projects are emerging in China, that I would like to focus more on new business development and investment.
