- What have you learnt so far from working at Sumitomo Corporation?
- Before joining Sumitomo, I worked for a travel agency where I educated and trained Cambodian tour guides, and had another job where I supervised the operations of the Cambodian pavilion for the Aichi World Exposition. From these jobs, I think I have acquired different business skills, including the ability to flexibly respond to various customer needs and demands, and positive thinking attitude which enables me to confidently approach and contact potential customers.
My main assignments at Sumitomo Corporation involve administration at the Phnom Penh office, although gathering information outside the office is also required from time to time. The current job gives me opportunities to learn about the viewpoints of the management side, thus enabling me to develop a balanced business sense and build up the knowledge I will need in the future.

- How did you come to know Sumitomo Corporation?
- While I was working for the Cambodian pavilion at the Aichi Exposition, I met a person working for Sumitomo Corporation?a general coordinator in charge of managing pavilions, including the Cambodian pavilion. His performance as a coordinator was impressive to me because he was adept at managing the various views and opinions of pavilions from different countries. In his business leadership, well matched with international standards, I found the enormity of what Sumitomo actually does as a Japanese trading company. It was at that moment that I became firmly convinced that human resource is the power of a Japanese trading company.

- What kind of contribution do you think Sumitomo Corporation can make for Cambodia as a general Japanese trading company?
- Cambodia has yet fully healed from the deep scars the wars have left for the country. It is a country in which solid employment and educational system are still under developed. A framework for such system needs to be built in order to give Cambodian people a more stably comfortable lives and fulfillments. Actually, Cambodia is full of natural potentiality and opportunities to grow, so through Sumitomo Corporation’s network and resources we will be able to help maximize them. Yet, in order to achieve this, we need to cooperate with local people, which is also an employment opportunity Sumitomo Corporation creates for Cambodian people. Realizing that Sumitomo Corporation has been making a huge contribution, such as providing more jobs, and generating more income, to this nation, I feel that I am now part of the right team doing the right thing for the right people at the right time, thus making me very satisfied.

- What are your dreams for the future?
- In the future, I long for my own shop. Having lived oversea for a long time, I appreciate my family even more. So, I would like to run a restaurant, cafe or pension together with my father, who is a chef, and my mother, a good cook. My dream is to create a place with pleasant environment where many people converge, comfortably relax, happily talk and want to revisit. I want to be an entrepreneur and artisan who invents for people something brand new, which is a catalyst making a sad face smile and smiling face shine, and hope that it is a part of their happiness.
