Advisory on scam & fraudulent activities

Recently, there have been reported cases of companies and individuals receiving emails purportedly from Sumitomo Corporation offering roles to act as Sumitomo Corporation's "sales/payment representative" and to collect payment from its clients. Such correspondences come with promises of monthly salaries, bonuses and collection fees. These scam correspondences are sent with an email address ending with "" or "".

Please note that Sumitomo Corporation has no relation to such emails and takes a serious view of such scams and fraudulent activities and is now investigating the matter.

Please further note that Sumitomo Corporation does not send out official emails from personal email accounts such as Hotmail, Gmail, or other unfamiliar email domains. Sumitomo Corporation also does not solicit for job roles through unsecured emails, including webmail account. Further, Sumitomo Corporation will never ask you to provide your personal contact or confidential information through unsecured emails.

We would therefore like to ask you to be vigilant and careful when you receive unsolicited emails or contacts purportedly from Sumitomo Corporation via webmail. If you have any doubt or questions, please write to us at Contact Form.
