The Transportation & Construction Systems Business Unit is involved in the automobile, ship, aircraft, rail, other transportation equipment, and construction equipment businesses, covering everything from mid-stream to downstream to upstream. In the automotive business, we are engaged in the entire automotive value chain on a global basis, from automobile component manufacturing to logistics, retail and financial services. In the ship business sector, we are the only trading company in Japan having equity stake in a shipbuilding company (Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.), and are also engaged in the shipowing and operating sector as well. In the construction equipment business, we are a unique corporate group, boasting the top number of commercial transactions among trading firms, and the global business conduct across a wide range of segments in the industry. The Transportation & Construction Systems Business Unit also conducts aircraft businesses, including aerospace-related business investment, as well as railway car businesses with particular expertise in railroad projects and rail car export.
