Corporate Group. The Corporate Group drafts company-wide policies and management plans, promotes communication activities between the Sumitomo and our stakeholders via publicity/ IR, etc., and conducts cross-organizational management and support work for the Sumitomo Business Units, offering legal, human resources, accounting, risk management, and other services.

Business Lines

The Corporate Group is comprised largely of five different organizations, and is responsible for the role of managing activities under its control across the Company as a whole.

The Corporate Planning & Coordination Group drafts a group-wide policy and strategy, and is engaged in communications (with both internal and external stakeholders), social contribution services, and CSR promotion activities as well as being responsible for global environment issues and making and driving of IT strategy.
The Human Resources, General Affairs & Legal Group is responsible for activities across a wide range of areas, including global human resources strategy and providing legal work, general affairs, document management, etc.
The Financial Resources Management Group is in charge of corporate capital policy, capital acquisition, foreign exchange and other financial/accounting management tasks. The Group is also responsible for activities related to risk management and internal controls on a company-wide basis. The Corporate Auditors' Administration Department is responsible for assisting corporate auditors, while the Internal Auditing Department is responsible for duties related to internal audits.

Through these types of activities under its control, the Corporate Group accomplishes a role as the functioning support of the Business Units and group companies, engaging in a daily work to "achieve prosperity and realize dreams."
